So the funny thing about this is that I don't love pizza the way most people do. I would not even put it in my top five foods of all time. But something happen to me recently and I think about it all the time. I even find myself suggesting we grab some pizza. It used to be Ryan would suggest pizza and I would roll my eyes.
I liked pizza as a kid. I think my favorite was Pizza Hut personal pan pizza. But I never remember having the pizza I now aspire to make. My mom is an amazing cook and very creative, but I don't remember her making pizza that was anything special.
In college I ate Papa John's at 3am and it tasted amazing.
In Boston my favorite pizza was at a place called Pizza Republic. It was a Fromaggio (olive oil, mozzarella, ricotta, gorgonzola and parmigiano) with prosciutto.
In Portland I live down the street from Apizza Scholls. My first time eating there I had one of those speechless moments when I could not believe the flavors in my mouth. Apizza 'Margo'rita and Tartufo Bianco are my favorites.
Several months ago Ryan and I went to dinner at our friends Gayle and Bryan's place. Bryan made pizza for us and it was good. Bryan made it look easy and I said I can do this.
I asked for a pizza stone for Christmas and that is how it all started.
